How to Edit Your Palworld Save File (1.0)
You can edit your Palworld save in your browser in a few minutes — no download, no mods. Here's how to back up your Level.sav, change your Pals or character, and load the edited file back into the game.
Step 1 — Close the game and back up your save
Editing always works on a copy, but keep a backup anyway. Close Palworld (or stop your dedicated server) first, then copy your Level.sav somewhere safe before you change anything.
On Windows you'll find your save here: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Pal\Saved\SaveGames — then open your Steam ID folder, where Level.sav lives. On Xbox / Game Pass or a dedicated server the path differs.
Step 2 — Upload Level.sav to PalTweak
Open PalTweak in your browser and drop your Level.sav onto the upload area. There's nothing to install: the file is read into a temporary in-memory session, and it's never written to disk or shared.
Step 3 — Edit your Pals and player
Pick a player, then search and select any Pal to edit it. Setting a Pal's level and adding or cloning Pals are free; IVs, souls, passive skills, moves, species and the full player editor are part of the one-time €4.99 Pro upgrade.
Step 4 — Download and replace your save
Download the edited Level.sav, then copy it back into your save folder, replacing the original (game still closed). Launch Palworld and your changes are live. If anything looks off, restore the backup you made in step 1.
What you can change

Is it safe to edit your save?
Editing your own single-player or co-op world's save is safe as long as the game is closed and you keep a backup. PalTweak never overwrites your original — you upload a copy and download a new file, so you can always roll back. Avoid taking edited saves onto servers you don't own.
Frequently asked questions
Where is my Palworld save file located?+
On Windows, saves live under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Pal\Saved\SaveGames, inside a folder named after your Steam ID; the world's file is Level.sav. On Xbox / Game Pass or a dedicated server the location differs.
Do I need to install anything?+
No. PalTweak edits your save entirely in the browser — upload Level.sav, make changes and download it again. There's no program, no mod loader and nothing to uninstall.
Will editing my save get me banned?+
Editing is intended for your own single-player, co-op or dedicated-server world, which has no anti-cheat. Don't bring edited saves onto servers you don't control, where admins may treat edits as cheating.
Can I undo my changes?+
Yes — keep the backup you made before editing. PalTweak never touches your original file; it gives you a new one to copy in, so you can always restore the backup.
Does it work on Palworld 1.0?+
Yes. PalTweak is built and tested for the current 1.0 save format, and it opens saves from older versions too.
